And the Bridesmaids?

The Caribbean, the wedding, and of course she’ll want the girls to be present. However, there are some challenges that occur with being an out-of-town bridesmaid. Some bridesmaids have a difficult time affording the flight and extra hotel room, and worry about not being able to buy the couple a wedding present.

Think in this:

Expenses
When a bridesmaid agrees to be in a destination wedding, it is her responsibility to pay for her own expenses, such as the airfare to the wedding location, her hotel accommodations and meals that are part of the wedding celebration. The couple may offer to assist with some of these expenses, but it is not required.

The Gift

Bridesmaids should study their budgets after they determine how much money they have spent being in the wedding with the travel expenses, their dresses and the bridal shower. If they can afford it, a small heartfelt gift is always appreciated.

The Dress

When traveling to another location, bridesmaids need a dress that will not appear wrinkled when they arrive. Think about dresses that travel well and come in a variety of colors.

Hairstyle

If the wedding is on the beach, the bridesmaids should wear lighter, flowing dresses and they should supplement the look with a softer hairstyle. Bridesmaids may consider leaving their hair down in soft wavy curls that flow naturally.

Their Duties

Bridesmaids offer support to the bride on the wedding day by helping her get ready. They will assist their friend by bringing her anything she needs from ice water to food to sustain her. They may greet guests as they arrive at the destination and help them feel welcome.
