Something special for your Beach Look: wearing a Sarong
For a real taste of a beach wedding try a sarong. This dress or skirt is one long rectangle of fabric that wraps and ties to your body. Sarongs traditionally have island prints, such as flowers or block printed shapes. This is a lovely look; do some “window shopping” on the internet for ideas. However, there is nothing wrong with wearing an all white sarong for your special day. You can wear your sarong as one piece in the length you desire (to your knees, your calves or full-length). Alternately, you can top a white sarong skirt with a white blouse.
Sarongs often come with snaps or buttons, but if you’re the adventurous type, you’ll want to buy a fabric rectangle and learn to tie it yourself. Look online for sarong-tying tutorials. These will also give you an idea of the many different types of outfits you can get from this one versatile piece of fabric.
Also, keep your comfort in mind so you can enjoy this special day. Remember, nylons and the beach don’t mix. Same with high heels. Go barefoot, or wear dressy or barefoot sandals.
For the special look you can add some white and silver beading to your white sarong for added refinement. Or you can wear a white bikini with a lovely hibiscus pattern embroidered on your sarong either in white or in one of your wedding colors.
To finish your beach wedding look, wear a flower wreath on your head or a wide-brimmed hat. Small clips with rhinestones throughout your hair will add sparkle and a bit of glamour as well. You can even skip the footwear for a beach wedding without loosing any of the elegance (Be sure they’re pinned down good though or you may lose them to the ocean wind=
